Early treatments - Hydroxychloroquine with Zinc

Hydroxychloroquine used with zinc represents just one of the safe and effective methods of treatment for COVID. Zinc is an essential mineral that has been used to stop viruses from replicating.[1][2]  Hydroxychloroquine has the ability to transport zinc through the cellular wall, to more efficiently stop that replication.[3]With over 70 years of proven safety,[4]  the WHO considers hydroxychloroquine one of the “most efficacious, safe and cost-effective medicines” on the market.[5]  When used as part of the “Zelenko Protocol”, developed by Dr Vladmir Zelenko, COVID hospitalizations were reduced by 84% in high-risk patients.[6] Countries that used hydroxychloroquine during the “first wave” experienced significantly better recovery outcomes.[7]

As the off-label use of hydroxychloroquine grew, several studies were released concluding that it was both dangerous and ineffective.[8] [9] As a result, the WHO suspended further research and denounced the use of the drug to treat COVID.[10] It was later observed that these studies did not accurately reflect Dr Zelenko’s highly effective low-dose, early intervention protocol, [11][12] [13] [14]  but rather were conducted on patients already hospitalized, using dangerously high drug doses and excluding the zinc.[15] At least one such study was later withdrawn for unverifiable data and described as a “shocking example of research misconduct.”[16]

Unfortunately, the damage had been done. Hydroxychloroquine was now taboo. Social media censors quickly removed information that supported the use of hydroxychloroquine[17] [18] and Dr Zelenko was removed from Twitter.[19]

It is estimated that 900,000 lives were lost in 2020 due to a lack of access to this life-saving treatment.[20][21] The COVID vaccines were only eligible for fast-tracked, Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) because there was “no adequate, approved and available alternative” treatment on the market.[22] If HCQ were acknowledged to be an effective treatment, the COVID vaccines would not be able to get EUA.
